REVIEW: USANA SENSÉ™ SCIENCE-BASED SKIN CARE

By January 13, 2015 , , ,

As the weather gradually grew hotter and unpredictable in Melbourne recently, I started noticing some breakout on my forehead, yet my nose was sometimes dry and flaky. Despite changing a few different brands of face moisturiser, the problem persisted. So, when the kind people behind USANA Health Sciences offered for me to try their new Sensé Skin Care Range, I thought it would be a good time to give it a go. Afterall, the company claims that there are no chemical preservatives in their products - meaning they stay fresh naturally and is suitable for gentle and sensitive skin.

After a month of testing the products, I can say with confidence that the Sensé Daytime Protective Emulsion is one of the better moisturiser that I have used in the past year or so. As I grew older, I gradually realised the importance of sunscreen Never mind the good ol' Slip-Slop-Slap, it is just good sense to protect yourself against the harmful UV rays. However, I found out the hard way that the conventional sunscreen, when applied on top of my daily moisturiser, makes my skin feel really oily.

But with Sensé Daytime Protective Emulsion, I get the benefit of moisturiser plus sunscreen. Moreover, it is not greasy at all and my skin absorbs it quickly. It is also a pleasant surprise to find that my foundation glides on smoothly after using the emulsion and the coverage seems to be more even.

Over the past month, I put the emulsion through some vigorous tests against the recent Melbourne weather, which ranges from extremely hot and dry to humid and wet...sometimes within 24 hours. I am so happy to discover that my blemishes seem to have lighten a bit. Thanks to the Reginosomes enzyme technology that helps to speed skin's recovery from environmental damage and repair skin's aging, I would remove my makeup at the end of a long day to discover my skin is soft and smooth.

Confident with USANA's skin care range, I was inspired to test another product in the Sensé range: The Nutritious Cremé Masque. Rich in vitamins, minerals and plant extracts to detoxify pores and intensely nourish the skin, I figured that was exactly what I needed after a day out in the sun. The luxurious, clay-like texture of the masque felt cool and soothing against my scarlet and warm cheeks. In fact, the clay-like texture can be attributed to the Pure China Clay, included in the masque to draw out any skin impurities. The masque also contains shea and mango butter to hydrate and cool skin's surface. True enough, when I rinsed my face after 20 minutes, my skin felt soothed, soften and restored.

I have always been skeptical about MLM products, but Sensé truly lives up to its name Beautiful Science. MLM or not, an excellent product speaks for itself. If you are looking to switch to a light-weight moisturiser formula, or if you are looking for a luxurious spa-like clay masque, look no further - USANA's Sensé Range will take good care of you and your skin.
